Zion Lights

Zion is an internationally sought-after speaker on science communication and environmental activism. She is author of the evidence-based book The Ultimate Guide to Green Parenting, the nature poetry collection Only a Moment, and the forthcoming Zero Waste Kids with Rob Greenfield.

Zion has a long history of environmental and science writing and has written for The Metro, The Telegraph, The Mail, City AM, BBC Wildlife Magazine, Resurgence magazine, The Ecologist, Permaculture magazine, and many other publications.

Zion has been involved in climate action for over a decade. She played a core role in Extinction Rebellion’s UK Media & Messaging team where she founded the climate reporting newspaper The Hourglass and became a high-profile spokesperson for the campaign group. Previously Zion was Co-Editor of JUNO magazine for 7 years.

Zion has been called “Britain’s greenest mother” by The Daily Telegraph and “an eco-pragmatist, happily heavy on science” by The Guardian. She is an astronomer and her TEDx talk, “Don’t Forget to Look Up,” is on the importance of stargazing.
