Chris Lewis is President & CEO of Public Knowledge where he is a leading advocate for digital rights on behalf of the public interest. He’s served as President & CEO since July 2019 after seven years as PK’s Vice President for Government Affairs. Chris has over 20 years of experience as an advocate, elected official, political organizer, and policy leader. His prior political and policy work includes serving as Deputy Director of the office of Legislative Affairs at the Federal Communications Commission, as a former U.S. Senate staffer and as an experienced political organizer in both the nonprofit world and political campaigns from the local to presidential level. Chris graduated from Harvard University with a Bachelors degree in Government. He lives in Alexandria, Virginia where he is active in local civic issues, including being elected to two terms on the Alexandria City School Board.
